At Spartan, getting you safely back on course and overcoming obstacles is the highest priority for us. Over the past months, a dedicated Spartan team has worked judiciously to create a robust relaunch plan for events worldwide. This plan has been designed to keep all racers, volunteers and staff safe, meet strict Government requirements, and bring Spartan events back to as many people as safely as possible.
Reduced customer touch points to minimise physical interaction between racers, and racers and event staff. This will include going cashless at the Merchandise Tent, Registration and at Food & Beverage outlets.
Additional cleaning and sanitisation of customer touch-points throughout the event village including registration areas, toilets, medal and shirt collection, results, payment collection points, and at first-aid stations and obstacles.
Hand sanitiser will be available for use throughout events, including around high traffic areas, on course and around portable toilets. These will be refreshed by staff throughout the day.
Transparent plastic shields will be installed at key interaction points, such as racer registration, to create separation between both racers and staff.
To manage the volume of racers onsite, each racer will be given a specific arrival for entry to the event to ensure total participant numbers at any one time are kept under strict control. You will not be permitted on-site until 60 minutes before your start time.
Customer throughput will be monitored to ensure the number of people within the event space is kept to acceptable levels at all times.
Heat sizes will be reduced, and courses themselves will be widened from previous standards to ensure safe spacing while running/walking and at obstacles where possible.
Dedicated lanes, along with designated waiting spots, will be provided at areas where racers tend to congregate, such as at registration and at obstacles. Where lines are formed, distancing markers will be used to ensure safe distancing (2 metres).
These protocols apply to all racers, staff and volunteers. As part of the roadmap back to the new normal, Public Health England encourages vaccination.
Each person entering the site - racers, volunteers and staff will be required to register on the NHS Track and Trace App. Anyone who refuses to do so will not be permitted on-site.
There will be adjustments to the following broad event components as necessary, on a race by race basis.
There will be no on-site registration for all events. All tickets must be purchased and registered for in-advance.
Obstacles may be amended to support Covid-19 mitigation.
Cold wash and changing tents will be unavailable..
Spectators are permitted and must follow social distancing measures. All spectators must book their tickets in advance of the event.
Distancing guides placed for people waiting in line.
The site is cashless, please bring your debit or credit card for any purchases.
Food and beverage offerings will be pre-packaged. The festival area and food and beverage zones will not have seating or shade tents to enable adequate ventilation.
