Up the Death Race Stone Stairs. 970 feet of vertical. Through the daylight hours when your legs still feel like yours. Through dusk, when the mountain starts to feel longer than it did at noon. Through the dead of night, when the stairs disappear into the dark and every step is a negotiation. Through the 3am hour when your body has run out of arguments and your mind is all you have left.

You climb. You reach Shrek's Cabin. You descend. You get back before the next bell.

Whatever time remains is yours — eat, drink, sit, close your eyes. Then the bell rings again.

Welcome to Last Spartan Standing — the only Last Person Standing endurance format on the planet set on Death Race terrain.

THE FORMAT Unlike a traditional endurance race, Last Spartan Standing has no finish line, no set distance, and no guaranteed end time. There are only two things that matter: the bell, and whether you answer it. Every 45 minutes, participants must complete a full ascent and descent of the legendary Death Race Stone Stairs to Shrek's Cabin at Riverside Farm — approximately 2 miles and 970 feet of elevation gain per loop. Anyone who fails to complete their loop within the 45-minute window, or fails to present at the start corral when the bell sounds, is immediately and permanently eliminated.

THE PLACE Riverside Farm in Pittsfield, Vermont isn't just a race venue. It's the spiritual home of Spartan — the birthplace of the Death Race, the proving ground of some of the toughest humans on the planet, and the personal farm of Spartan founder Joe De Sena. When you toe the start line here, you're standing on ground that has broken world-class athletes, military veterans, and elite endurance competitors. That legacy lives in every step of those stone stairs.

THE WINNER The last participant to complete a loop — when no one else can answer the bell — is declared the Last Spartan Standing. They must then complete one final solo loop to claim the title. There is no podium of three. There is one winner. Everyone else is a DNF.
